the act of gifting

Receiving gifts is such a special thing. Not just from the moment you receive the gift, but even way before that.

Someone — your person, your parent, your friend — whoever it may be, sits there and thinks, “I want to get them a gift.” The first thing they do is think about you.

Or maybe they see something that reminds them of you and they decide to get that for you.

Regardless, they think… Of you.

And then, they think about what they want to get for you. Could be flowers or just a cup of coffee. It could be the simplest thing.

Flowers. Their thoughts: “what kind of flowers? What color? Should I mix them with other flowers?”

Coffee. Their thoughts: “I know she likes a good iced coffee. What flavor? What size? From which coffee shop?”

The fact that that one person is taking time out of their day and putting energy into getting something for you is like, SO freaking CUTE.

They could be doing anything else in the world. But, there they are, with the thought of you, and the thought of gifting you a little something from the heart.

Sit and dwell on that for a second. How beautiful is that? I’m over here in my feelings because it is SO adorable that we do that as humans for another human.

Now, let’s go out there and make someone’s day. Just because.
